We’re excited to welcome Michelle to the Maple Hill team as our new Plant Health Care (PHC) Specialist.
Michelle is a Certified Arborist and licensed Landscape Exterminator with a strong background in Plant Healthcare. She brings a proactive, science-based approach to caring for trees and shrubs across the properties we service.
What Is Plant Health Care (PHC)?
Plant Health Care is about more than reacting to problems; it’s about preventing them.
A PHC program focuses on:
- early detection of issues
- ongoing monitoring of tree and shrub health
- integrated pest management strategies
- improving overall plant resilience
Rather than waiting for a visible decline, PHC helps identify concerns before they become serious.
A Proactive Approach to Tree and Shrub Care
At its core, PHC is about maintaining the long-term health and stability of your landscape.
Healthy trees and shrubs are:
- more resistant to pests and disease
- better able to withstand environmental stress
- less likely to require costly emergency work
Like preventative care in healthcare, consistent monitoring and early action lead to better outcomes.
Why It Matters for Homeowners
Many common tree issues don’t appear overnight. By the time symptoms are visible, the problem is often already advanced.
A structured PHC program can:
- reduce long-term maintenance costs
- extend the life of trees and shrubs
- minimize environmental impact
- help prevent avoidable damage or loss
It’s a smarter, more sustainable way to manage your property.
Michelle’s Role at Maple Hill
As Maple Hill’s PHC Specialist, Michelle will be working closely with clients throughout the season to support tree and landscape health.
Her focus includes:
- establishing monitoring programs
- identifying early-stage concerns
- recommending proactive treatments
- guiding throughout the season
This ensures clients have a clear understanding of what their landscape needs and when to act.
Supporting Healthier Landscapes, Long-Term
Plant Health Care plays a critical role in modern arboriculture. It shifts the focus from reactive tree work to long-term planning and care. With Michelle on our team, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver a higher level of service to our clients.
